Glow Worm Boiler Installation in Ashford, Surrey

In mid-November, we were approached by a client experiencing issues with their heating system. The client’s existing system, a dated Worcester Bosch high-flow boiler, was declining in reliability, along with some of the downstairs radiators had stopped working altogether.

The primary objective was to replace the old boiler with a new, more efficient system that could provide consistent heating and balanced water pressure throughout the property.

Given the complexity and size of the outdated unit, which was inconveniently located upstairs, we decided to install a modern combination boiler. This involved removing the large old boiler, installing the new combi boiler on a wall for easier access and maintenance, and re-piping and reconfiguring the system to suit the new setup. We also installed a Grundfos mains boost pump to ensure balanced water pressure across all floors.

During the installation, we faced several challenges due to the previous unconventional plumbing work that didn’t come to light until we was refilling the system. Despite these obstacles, our team managed to overcome them. The installation was completed in one long day, starting early in the morning and finishing by 8:30 PM, including the successful installation of the new system.

To further enhance the system’s efficiency and longevity, we added magnetic filters to protect the boiler and installed smart controls for easy temperature management.

The new boiler system was up and running on the same day, much to the client’s satisfaction. Our fixed pricing policy meant that the numerous unforeseen issues were resolved at no extra cost to the client, reinforcing our commitment to service and transparency. Post-installation, the client has reported excellent heating performance and has taken out a care plan with us for ongoing maintenance.

This project exemplified our team’s dedication to providing high-quality, reliable solutions and customer satisfaction even when things do not quite go to plan and unforeseen circumstances arise. The installation not only improved the heating efficiency of the home but also ensured a stable and balanced heating system for years to come. I called SHS to resolve an issue with my boiler. Paul came out to inspect it for a reasonable call-out fee and identified a safety issue with the installation. As my boiler was very old and the installation was not up to standard, he recommended replacing it.

Paul was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout. Although he was unable to resolve the boiler fault, he took the time to explain my options clearly. SHS was also very quick to provide a quote for a new boiler and answer my numerous questions.
